ECO Family Fest

In conjunction with Climate Action Richmond Hill, I hosted my first annual ECO Family Fest on October 4th , 2024. To say it was a huge success might be seen as an understatement as we attracted more than 750 engaged community members. The ECO Family Fest is an event to showcase sustainable initiatives that promote healthier lifestyles for not only us, but our planet as well. We promoted many ways that people can save energy, and the environment through energy-efficient home upgrades (solar, heat pumps, etc.), but save money while doing so. At this event we were also promotingthe benefits of adopting healthier lifestyles through food, exercise, and regular activity.

Food wise we served up 750 plant-based protein burgers without telling people in

advance. Many people commented that had they known they could taste this good that they would have made the switch much earlier. In an effort to promote passive recreational activities that focuses on the experience of being outdoors and creating an appreciation for our natural environment (such as hiking, biking, etc.) we brought in a climbing wall for people to try.
